Binaural beats are produced when two tones are slightly detuned from one another. When playing these different frequencies at the same time, the sounds interact, cancelling each other out when they meet in space. The listener perceives only the difference between the two tones (e.g., perceived frequency of two hertz, when playing 100 hertz and 102 hertz at the same time).

The Sound Lounge uses music infused with binaural beats to entrain the brain into different states, creating brainwaves that can support the treatment of various mental and physical issues. The different states are as follows:
